TOP 5 LOS ANGELES BOUTIQUES
They say that Los Angeles is booming. The city is getting better and better every year; the food, the culture, the art scene, it’s all on the rise, and the shopping here is no exception... I can attest to that! There are so many incredible neighborhoods in Los Angeles, all filled with their fare share of retail to take note of. It was hard to narrow down, but here are my favorite 5. What are your favorites? Please share in the comments below.
Good for: Unique, One-of-a-kind pieces
Nickey Kehoe is one of those shops I get lost in. Owners Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe have created a special retail haven that mixes high and low, old and new to give the shopper a sense of discovery around every corner. Filled to the brim with eclectic furniture, vintage art, curated bedding and artful kick-knacks, this place is not to be missed!
7221 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036
Good for: Southwest inspired accessories
Every time I shop at René Holguin’s RTH, I feel transported, as if I’ve stumbled upon an artist’s trading post in El Paso. This place is stocked with ceramics, textiles, leather goods, beaded jewelry and a namesake clothing line that will give your house (or wardrobe) a little something special. This is also the very place I got my tassels from for my A.P.C. loafers from my Top 5 Fall Shoe Picks post.
537 & 529 N. La Cienega Blvd., West Hollywood, CA 90048
APARTMENT BY THE LINE
Good for: Modern and Curated High
This place is a hidden gem; nestled on the second floor above Moon Juice and Alfred Tea. At first glance, it looks like a perfectly lived in apartment, owned by the most stylish person you know, but peruse some more and you’ll discover that everything is shoppable - the books on the bookshelf, the reading chair and ottoman, the perfectly hanging wardrobe in the closet, and everything in between. You’ll want to move right in....
8463 Melrose Place, 2nd floor, Los Angeles, CA 90069
Good for: Handcrafted Tabletop
Although I gravitate towards neutrals in almost every facet of my designs, I can’t resist the stunning glazes here. The aqua and onyx are to die for. Grab a set of mugs for a hostess gift or treat yourself to a whole dinnerware set for your table.
7525 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036
Good for: Contemporary & Understated Housewares & Gifts
What I love about Garde is that I know I can find something there that’s new, that I haven’t seen somewhere else. They’ve created a unique mix of products from artists and designers from around the world. Drop in for a candle or splurge on a dining chair collection. Confession: I’ve never left empty handed.
